Fulham sign defender Fernando Amorebieta

Fulham have completed the signing of defender Fernando Amorebieta on a four-year deal on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old was out of contract after his deal with Athletic Bilbao expired at the end of the season.

Amorebieta told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to have signed a four-year deal with Fulham and I'm looking forward to competing in the Barclays Premier League next season.

"I'm impressed with the talent already at the club and I look forward to meeting the players for pre-season training in July."

Amorebieta made over 250 appearances for Bilbao during his eight years at the club and has played eight times for Venezuela.
