Fulham reportedly turn down a £25.5m from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal for their main striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Fulham have reportedly rejected a £25.5m bid from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal for striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Clubs from the Saudi Pro League have been busy during the current window, recruiting a number of high-profile names.

Al-Hilal are among those that have been active in the transfer market, having already signed Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Chelsea respectively.

They have also confirmed the signing of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio in a transfer worth a reported €40m (£34m).

Having secured the signature of Milinkovic-Savic, Al-Hilal have seemingly turned their attention to his international teammate.

According to Sky Sports News, Al-Hilal have submitted a £25.5m bid for Mitrovic, which was subsequently rejected by Fulham.

The West London club have no intention of selling the 28-year-old, who still has three years left to run on his contract.

While Fulham are determined to retain the services of their star striker, the player is keen to complete a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Mitrovic joined the Cottagers in January 2018 on an initial loan deal from Newcastle United, before signing on a permanent basis in the following summer.

Having helped Fulham win promotion to the Premier League on two occasions, Mitrovic has established himself as a fan favourite at Craven Cottage.

During the 2022-23 campaign, he scored 14 goals in 24 top-flight appearances, as the Cottagers went on to achieve a 10th-placed finish.

In total, the Serbia international has featured in 205 competitive matches for Fulham, racking up 111 goals and providing 22 assists.

Al-Hilal were also linked with Fulham boss Marco Silva, before appointing experienced manager Jorge Jesus earlier this month.
