Fulham close to signing Newport County teenager Regan Poole

Fulham manager Kit Symons has revealed that the club are close to signing Newport County teenager Regan Poole.

The 16-year-old defender has started six games in all competitions for Newport this season and fellow Welshman Symons is confident of landing the hot prospect.

"He's a good young player and someone who we've been watching closely. He's a very good player," Symons told the South Wales Argus after his side's 1-0 defeat at Cardiff City on Saturday.

"The deal is looking very positive but I'm not sure it's actually done."

If Poole does sign for the West London side, he will likely play for their development side or be loaned back to a lower-league side.
