Martin Jol has told his Fulham squad to have "belief" in their ability to win away at Manchester United this evening.
The Whites have won just 14 of the previous 77 meetings between the two sides.
However, Jol has instructed his team to replicate the performances of other teams that have left Old Trafford with a victory this season.
"You need a lot of belief in yourself to win there," Jol told Sky Sports News. "Look at Crystal Palace in the [Carling] Cup, they did ever so well.
"My old team Ajax beat them and Blackburn have beaten them, so that is the feeling you need. You need to feel you're in with a chance otherwise you may as well stay in London."
Jol head into the fixture 13th in the Premier League table.
