Fulham looking to end 11-year winless run in Arsenal clash

Fulham looking to end 11-year winless run in Arsenal clash

Fulham will attempt to end an 11-year winless run in meetings with Arsenal when they welcome Mikel Arteta's side to Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Marco Silva will be looking for a positive response from his players after seeing his side lose their last three Premier League matches, including a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth in their most recent outing.

As a result of their poor league form, Fulham are currently sitting in 14th position in the Premier League table with 21 points to their name.

While they may be content with taking a point from Sunday's clash, Fulham will be dreaming of ending their long wait for a win against Arsenal.

The West London club have failed to win any of their last 11 head-to-head matches since claiming a 2-1 victory at Craven Cottage in February 2012.

Arteta was in the Arsenal starting lineup on that occasion, as the Cottagers fought back to record a narrow win thanks to goals from Steve Sidwell and Bobby Zamora.

Although they were unable to pick up a win in their most recent meeting, Fulham managed to rescue a point when the two sides faced off at The Emirates Stadium in August.

Arsenal scored two goals to take the lead after Andreas Pereira had opened the scoring, but Joao Palhinha found the net in the 87th minute to ensure that the contest finished as a 2-2 draw.

Despite salvaging a positive result from the reverse fixture, Fulham's recent home record against Arsenal makes for grim reading.

They have lost each of their previous four home encounters, conceding at least three goals in their last four meetings at Craven Cottage.

If Fulham are to trouble the Gunners, they will have to do it without the services of Tim Ream and Adama Traore.

Willian is also a doubt for Sunday's home fixture, but Silva will be able to call upon Raul Jimenez, who is available following a three-match suspension.
