Fleetwood Town sack Graham Alexander

Fleetwood Town part company with manager Graham Alexander.

Fleetwood Town have parted company with manager Graham Alexander.

The 43-year-old took charge at the Highbury Stadium in December 2012 and under his guidance the Cod Army were promoted to League One via the playoffs in 2013-14.

However, having won just two games this season and in the wake of last night's 5-1 defeat at the hands of Gillingham, the club have announced that the former Preston North End defender has been relieved of his duties.

Of Alexander's 145 games at the helm, Fleetwood won 56, drew 35 and lost 54.
