Fiorentina defeat Cagliari

Fiorentina defeat Cagliari 4-1 after a storming second-half display.

Fiorentina have comfortably defeated Napoli in Serie A after an efficient second-half performance.

Cagliari started brightly and Andrea Cossu could have given them a seventh-minute lead, but he shot over the bar.

It was Fiorentina who did grab the first goal when Gonzalo Rodriguez headed in from a Borja Valero corner.

Cossu again missed the target in the 30th minute as Cagliari pressed for an equaliser and they were finally level just two minutes before the break. Federico Casarini was played in by Thiago Ribeiro and he slotted the ball home.

Just five minutes into the second half and the home side were back in front through Stevan Jovetic, who finished from a Borja Valero corner.

Four minutes later Jovetic turned provider as he set up Luca Toni for Fiorentina's third.

Fiorentina notched another goal five minutes from time through Juan Cuadrado.
