Feyenoord vs. AZ - prediction, team news, lineups

The pick of the action in gameweek 12 of the Eredivisie season sees Feyenoord play host to AZ Alkmaar at De Kuip on Sunday.

The away side are looking to make it eight wins from their last nine outings across all competitions, while the hosts have suffered only one defeat in that time.

Match preview

AZ kept the juggernaut rolling with a 3-2 comeback victory over PEC Zwolle at the AFAS Stadion on Sunday.

Pascal Jansen's men conceded a first-half brace to Mees de Wit before turning it around thanks to two goals from Vangelis Pavlidis and one from Dani De Wit.

With a 50% win record so far, the Cheeseheads are 10th in the Eredivisie table at the moment, a point off the top half having played one game fewer.

Awaiting them next is the challenge of an opposing side who they have beaten in each of the last three meetings after picking up no wins in the eight clashes prior to that.

Off the back of a 2-0 victory over Cluj in midweek, Sunday's visitors will head into this weekend's game on a high.

Feyenoord came out on top in the Rotterdam derby following a narrow 1-0 win over Sparta at the Het Kasteel on Sunday.

With the game level heading into additional time, Cyriel Dessers popped up with a late winner to hand Arne Slot's men all three points.

De Stadionclub are in fourth place at the moment, four points behind current leaders Ajax with a game in hand.

Sunday's hosts, who claimed a 2-1 win over Union Berlin on Thursday, now set out to maintain their unbeaten home record in the league.

Team News

Twenty-one-year-old Thijs Oosting is a doubt for AZ this weekend as he continues to nurse a muscle tear.

Jesper Karlsson was on target in this fixture last season, and he will be looking to deliver the goods once again.

Mark Diemers was fit enough to be named on the bench last time out, but the Dutch midfielder is not expected to feature this weekend.

Cyriel Dessers has come off the bench to good effect in each of his last two matches and could be rewarded with a starting spot in this one.

Feyenoord possible starting lineup:

Bijlow; Malacia, Senesi, Trauner, Pedersen; Kokcu, Til, Toornstra; Sinisterra, Jahanbakhsh, Linssen

AZ Alkmaar possible starting lineup:

Vindahl; Wijndal, Martins Indi, Chatzidiakos, Sugawara; Midtsjo, Clasie, De Wit; Karlsson, Pavlidis, Gudmundsson

We say: Feyenoord 1-1 AZ Alkmaar

Both teams have a lot of attacking talent on show, and we expect goals at both ends. We are also tipping a share of the spoils with honours even at full time.
