FC Midtjylland will be aiming to record their first victory of the 2025-26 campaign when they welcome SonderjyskE to MCH Arena in the Danish Superliga on Monday night.
The home side opened their campaign with a 3-3 draw against OB, while SonderjyskE also started their season with a stalemate, playing out a 1-1 with AGF.
Match preview
FC Midtjylland are four-time Danish Superliga winners, with their last title success coming in 2023-24, but they were second last season, with Copenhagen crowned champions.
The Wolves are already two games into their new campaign, starting their league season with a 3-3 draw against OB, before drawing 1-1 with Hibernian in the first leg of their Europa League second qualifying round clash on Thursday night.
FC Midtjylland will be in Scotland next week for the second leg, but their immediate focus is on the league, and head coach Thomas Thomasberg will be determined to put three points on the board.
The Wolves have been quiet during the transfer window, with centre-forward Etim their only arrival, but there have been five departures, including Jan Kuchta, who has joined Sparta Prague.
FC Midtjylland have won three of their last four league matches against SonderjyskE, but it was the latter that recorded a 3-2 victory when the two teams last locked horns in October 2024.
SonderjyskE, as mentioned, also drew their opening match of the new league season, playing out a 1-1 draw with AGF, so the visitors are looking for their first win of the campaign on Monday.
Thomas Norgaard's side finished ninth in the Danish Superliga last season, so there is clear room for improvement during the current campaign.
SonderjyskE have never won the Danish Superliga, but they finished second in 2015-16, while they were Danish Cup winners in 2019-20, so the team has enjoyed some recent success.
SE have boosted their squad with four signings this summer, including Magnus Jensen, while Alexander Lyng has also been a standout arrival for the team in the final third of the field.
There have been three outgoings, meanwhile, including goalkeeper Jakob Busk.
