Sports Mole takes a look at Ireland's trip to the Faroe Islands in Tuesday's World Cup qualifier.

The Republic of Ireland will be very keen to erase the memories of their recent 6-1 hammering by Germany when they continue their World Cup qualifying campaign against the Faroe Islands on Tuesday.

Giovanni Trapattoni's side were humiliated by Die Mannschaft in Dublin, but they arguably couldn't have had a kinder fixture with which to get back to winning ways.

Despite putting up a valiant fight during Friday's 2-1 loss to Sweden, the Faroes have won once in their last 18 matches, two of those being draws.

Needless to say, the Irish will have to be well below par if they are to suffer a shock defeat to their hosts.

Ireland have been given a boost with the news that captain Robbie Keane has been passed fit after he watched on helplessly with an Achilles problem during Friday's mauling.

Current form:

Faroe Islands: LLLLLL
Rep. of Ireland: LLDWWL

Possible lineups:

Faroe Islands: Nielsen; Tor Naes, Faero, Justinussen, Udsen; Benjaminsen, Hansson, Baldvinsson, Samuelsen, Edmundsson; Holst

Rep. of Ireland: Westwood; Coleman, O'Dea, O'Shea, Ward; McCarthy, McGeady, Andrews, Fahey; Keane, Walters

Sports Mole says: 0-3
