Latest transfer news and rumours: Everton unwilling to meet Fatawu valuation, Atalanta make Muniz bid, Bournemouth confirm Diakite signing

Transfer news and rumours: Everton 'unwilling' to pay Fatawu asking price

Everton are reportedly reluctant to meet Leicester City's asking price for winger Abdul Fatawu.

The Toffees recently bolstered their attacking ranks with the loan signing of Jack Grealish from Manchester City.

Everton are still keen to recruit another wide option before the transfer window closes for business at the start of September.

The Toffees are showing an interest in signing Leicester's Fatawu after failing with multiple bids for Southampton's Tyler Dibling.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Everton are unwilling to meet Leicester's demands for the 21-year-old.

The update claims that Leicester are likely to keep Fatawu and sell Bilal El Khannouss to raise funds to help meet Profit and Sustainability regulations and boost their own transfer kitty.

Atalanta submit Muniz transfer offer

Meanwhile, Atalanta BC have reportedly submitted an official bid for Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz.

As per Sky Sports News, the Serie A side have tabled an offer worth an initial £30m, plus a further £4.5m in add-ons.

The update claims that Muniz is keen to join Atalanta, especially as they can offer him the chance to play Champions League football.

Leeds had also been linked with a potential move, but they have seemingly turned their focus to former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Fulham would like to retain Muniz's services for the upcoming season and will only consider sanctioning his departure if they sign a suitable replacement.

Muniz has entered the final year of his contract, but the Cottagers hold an option to extend his deal by a further 12 months.

Bournemouth announce Diakite signing

Elsewhere, Bournemouth have confirmed the signing of defender Bafode Diakite from French side Lille.

As per BBC Sport, the Cherries have signed the centre-back for an initial £30.3m, with a further £4.3m in add-ons.

"I'm really happy to be here and I'm very excited to start with the team," Diakite told Bournemouth's media channels.

"I know the coach has great ideas which enable us to play well in the Premier League. Now I'm at the club, it's a good opportunity to show how I can help the team going forward.

"I'm a defender who likes to have the ball and play with it, and I hope to show my qualities both with and without it.

"I will give everything for the team, and I hope we will have some great moments together."

Diakite will bolster Andoni Iraola's defensive options following the departures of Dean Huijsen and Ilia Zabarnyi.
