Ex-Everton scout Tony Henry: 'John Stones good enough for Real Madrid'

Scout: 'Stones could join Real Madrid'

Former Everton scout Tony Henry has claimed that Toffees defender John Stones could be playing for Real Madrid in the next few years.

The 21-year-old has been in fine form at Goodison Park since his move from Barnsley in 2013, catching the eye of some of Europe's top clubs.

Henry, who scouted Stones when he was at Oakwell, told the Liverpool Echo: "John will still make mistakes but in two years, I think he could be anywhere. He could be at Real Madrid.

"That he is now a regular in the England squad speaks volumes of the kid. I'm delighted for him."

Stones was the subject of repeated bids from Chelsea during the transfer window, but Everton rejected each approach.
