Roberto Martinez: 'Everton chasing winger signing'

Everton manager Roberto Martinez admits that the club is trying to sign a winger before the end of this summer's transfer window.

Roberto Martinez has revealed that Everton are looking to sign a winger before the end of the current transfer window.

The Toffees are thought to be interested in signing Chelsea winger Christian Atsu on loan.

The manager told the club's website: "We are looking for a wide player that is going to help us in a position that we need to strengthen going into the season.

"We are going to take as long as we need but hopefully it will be earlier rather than later."

The club broke their transfer record earlier this week to complete the permanent signing of striker Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.
