Report: Everton close to Christian Atsu loan

Everton have reportedly progressed in talks over a loan move for Chelsea winger Christian Atsu.

The Toffees have been linked with the Ghana international, but had been focused on completing the permanent signing of Romelu Lukaku earlier this week.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Roberto Martinez's side is close to completing the season-long loan, while further reports suggest that the deal could be announced in the next 24 hours.

Atsu joined Chelsea on a five-year contract from Porto last summer, before spending last year on loan with Vitesse Arnhem.
