Louis Saha’s future at Everton is in doubt after a series of events has left the French striker out of favour at the club.
Saha was left out of the squad for the team’s clash with Wigan on the weekend and it is understood that he will not feature in their Carling Cup tie with West Brom tonight (Wednesday).
The 33-year-old made his disappointment public when he tweeted that he was feeling "destroyed" by the omission.
Everton coach Steve Round has now confirmed that Saha refused to participate in an Everton reserve game last week.
"He was asked if he wanted to participate in the reserve game but didn't feel he needed it at that stage," Round said.
"The manager is going to keep a close eye on his training and see how he improves over the next week or two.
"I think the manager has quietly spoken to him. We get on with it."
Saha has scored 26 goals in 80 appearances for Everton since signing from Manchester United in 2008.
