Roberto Martinez accepts Everton fans' unrest in Southampton draw

Roberto Martinez accepts fans' unrest

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has said that he "accepts the unrest" of Toffees supporters following this afternoon's 1-1 draw at home to Southampton.

Everton have failed to win any of their last six Premier League matches, and the home support at Goodison Park has witnessed just one Premier League victory in their last 10 at home.

In recent weeks the supporters have unveiled banners calling for Martinez to go and he admits that the team has not been good enough.

"Looking at our results at home, they are not anywhere near what is expected," BBC Sport quotes the Spaniard as saying.

"We need to turn that around starting with understanding the responsibility of being at Everton is to win games on a consistent basis. We haven't been producing the results and I accept the unrest."

Up next for the Toffees is a trip to Merseyside rivals Liverpool on Wednesday before they travel to Wembley to face Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-finals next Saturday.
