Rio Ferdinand has criticised Everton supporters for their treatment of the team's younger players during today's 2-1 loss at home to Swansea City.
There were audible jeers at the break and on the final whistle at Goodison Park, while during the match the likes of 21-year-old defender John Stones and Ross Barkley, 22, felt the wrath of the home faithful.
Writing on Twitter this afternoon, former West Ham United and Manchester United centre-back Ferdinand warned the supporters that their outbursts will have a negative impact on their young talents.
The Everton fans have got their young players in a nervous state here!! Looks like they wont allow em time to make mistakes & learn....

Makes me even more grateful that i was brought up at West Ham,where the fans & staff allowed for me to make mistakes while learning the game
