Everton boss Roberto Martinez praises 'composed' defensive duo

Everton boss Roberto Martinez praises his side's defensive display in the 0-0 draw against Swansea City.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has hailed the composure of defensive duo John Stones and Phil Jagielka during his side's goalless draw at Swansea City.

The Spaniard insists that his team should have won the match, but was quick to draw positives from the stalemate.

"The first half was very level. We needed to be more aggressive going forward and that's why I'm pleased with the second half," he told reporters.

"We created good chances and they should have won us the game. I'm disappointed, but the overall performance was satisfying.

"In the second half we took control, we played through them a few times and everything started with the composure of John Stones and Phil Jagielka."

Following the draw, Everton and Swansea are level on nine points.
