Roberto Martinez, Nikica Jelavic given April awards

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has been named the Premier League manager of the month for April, with Nikica Jelavic bagging the players' gong.

Martinez led the Latics towards top-flight safety with impressive home wins over Manchester United and Newcastle United.

In between those victories, Wigan also shocked Arsenal by picking up three valuable points at the Emirates Stadium.

The run of three wins in five games has seen Wigan climb out of the bottom three at the expense of Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers.

Jelavic, meanwhile, netted six times in three appearances, including a double in Everton's compelling 4-4 draw with Manchester United.
