Roberto Martinez hails Samuel Eto'o's professionalism

Everton boss Roberto Martinez hails the performance of Samuel Eto'o after he scored two in their 3-1 win over Burnley.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez was quick to highlight the "incredible" professionalism of Samuel Eto'o after the Cameroon striker scored twice as the Toffees beat Burnley 3-1 on Sunday.

Eto'o opened the scoring with a first-half header before rounding off the game with a curling effort late on, and Martinez talked up the display from the ex-Chelsea forward.

He told the club's official website: "Everyone will speak about Samuel's goals and his finishes but as a manager I was more pleased with his all-round contribution.

"His link-up play was exceptional and his defensive work very disciplined. For someone who is at this experienced part of his career, to play 90 minutes on Thursday and today shows how he looks after himself.

"He is an incredible professional to have in a young group and dressing room. I was extremely proud of his performance."

The result leaves the Blues ninth in the Premier League table.
