Everton midfielder Darron Gibson reveals that a scan on his injured thigh "went well".

Everton midfielder Darron Gibson has revealed on his Twitter account that a scan on his injured thigh "went well".

The 24-year-old picked up the knock in the club's 2-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion at the beginning of September and it had been suggested that he would not return until January.

However, the Republic of Ireland international has hinted at a swift return to action following the scan on Tuesday.

"Scan went well 2day #buzzin :)," he tweeted.

Everton resume their domestic campaign against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
