Tom Cleverley: 'I'm fit, raring to go'

Everton midfielder Tom Cleverley has insisted that he is "raring to go" after recovering from an ankle injury.

The former Manchester United player has not featured in the first XI since suffering the blow during the Toffees' goalless draw against Tottenham Hotspur on August 29.

After a spell on the sidelines, Cleverley has declared himself fit for this Saturday's Premier League match against Aston Villa at Goodison Park.

"The last few months have been massively frustrating," Cleverley told the club's official website. "I don't think any player wants to get injured but when you are settling in at a new club and finding your feet pretty quickly, which I thought I was, then it is even more so.

"Whenever you have a long-term injury, you are susceptible to a couple of hiccups. I just had a little one with my groin in a training session, but you have got to expect these things. It is hard coming back from a long layoff, but I am as fit as ever now and raring to go."

Cleverley joined Everton in the summer from United after spending last season on loan at Aston Villa.
