Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin is ruled out for two or three weeks by manager Rafael Benitez after missing their Burnley clash through injury.

Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been ruled out of action for between two and three weeks by manager Rafael Benitez.

The 24-year-old kicked off the new season with three goals from the Toffees' first three Premier League outings but was unable to return from an injury concern for Monday's clash with Burnley after the international break.

When asked about his striker's injury in the pre-match press conference, Benitez said: "He has broken his toe. He was training with problems and playing with pain."

Speaking further on Calvert Lewin's struggles, the Spaniard added: "He had an injury the other day to his quadriceps and we have to wait two-to-three weeks, maybe more."

Such news sees the Toffees continue to operate without last season's top scorer, after he hit 16 Premier League goals in 33 outings - form that saw him earn a spot in England's Euro 2020 squad.
