Dominic Calvert-Lewin admits that his start to the season has been "frustrating" due to the thigh injury that he has sustained.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been out injured since August and he has admitted that it has been a frustrating period of time for him.

The Everton forward has scored three times in the Premier League this season, but he has been sidelined since the victory against Brighton & Hove Albion on August 28, 2021.

A thigh problem has kept the England international out of the squad and it is unclear when he will be due back with the team.

"It has been so frustrating to start the season with three goals in three games and be sidelined," Calvert-Lewin admitted to Sky Sports.

"The hardest part is the mental part, to see the lads play and not have an impact. I love scoring goals and that is what keeps me going in my rehab. It is difficult.

"Being a player I want to play every game. To watch it, it is difficult when results do not go your way and you cannot help."

The Toffees were defeated on Monday by Wolverhampton Wanderers, marking the fifth game in a row without a win for Rafael Benitez.
