Roberto Martinez deems hat-trick hero Romelu Lukaku "the complete striker"

Martinez: 'Lukaku the complete striker'

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has hailed the impact of Romelu Lukaku as the Toffees cruised to a 4-1 win away at Young Boys in the Europa League.

The Belgian striker scored a hat-trick at the Stade de Suisse, helping his side build up a comfortable lead going into the last-32 second-leg clash against the Bern outfit next Thursday.

Martinez told BBC Sport: "It was a test of character to go behind to a team in great form at home. It was a great result.

"When you see us play like that, we get back to memories of last season. In the league we have felt cagey. Europe is a fresh challenge.

"I have always said that Romelu Lukaku is an important player for us. He ticks every box - he is the complete striker."

Seamus Coleman also scored in the game, while John Stones was sent off in the second half following a late tackle on Guillaume Hoarau.
