Romelu Lukaku desperate for Champions League football

Romelu Lukaku has admitted that he is desperate to play Champions League football next season.

The 20-year-old Chelsea striker is currently on a season-long loan at Everton.

However, his latest comments have cast doubt over the possibility of a permanent move to the Toffees.

"I'm turning 21, I've been a professional for five years already. It is time," Lukaku told the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.

"It is high time that I play in the Champions League. It is the next step I need in my development. Full stop."

Lukaku has scored nine goals in 20 games for Everton so far this season.
