Jack Wilshere has claimed that every member of the England squad will have a role to play at the World Cup.
The Arsenal midfielder is expected to be competing with Jordan Henderson for a place in the team for Saturday's Group D opener with Italy, but he admits that he will be ready to make an impact off the bench if required.
"I think it's more than a 14-man game at this World Cup," Wilshere told reporters. "It will involve the whole squad.
"We are going to need everyone in the dressing room getting behind us because when you are seeing on the side you can see things that players on the pitch can't.
"So it's going to take everyone and if I don't start or a I do start I am going to try to help the team as best as I can. If I come on, I want to show what I can do."
Henderson started England's final warm-up game with Honduras last Saturday.
