FIFA open disciplinary proceedings against English, Polish FAs

FIFA open disciplinary proceedings against the English and Polish FAs over flare incidents at Wembley during their World Cup qualifier on October 15.

FIFA have announced that they have opened disciplinary proceedings against the English and Polish Football Associations regarding flare incidents.

The world governing body could punish both organisations after flares were let off at Wembley during the nations' World Cup qualifier on October 15.

Lit flares were clearly seen within the section of the Polish fans, but under FIFA guidelines, the English FA are deemed partly responsible due to the fixture being held at Wembley.

The match resulted in England securing their spot in Brazil for next year's tournament courtesy of goals from Wayne Rooney and Steven Gerrard.
