Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has spoken of his pride after making his England debut during the 2-0 win over Costa Rica.
The youngster admitted to feeling nervous ahead of the match but explained that his Three Lions teammates helped him settle into the international setup.
"It was a dream come true to make my England debut tonight. It's hard to put into words how it feels to represent your country," he told BBC Sport.
"It was quite nerve-racking and you play this day in your head over and over and it's never as dramatic as you think it will be. I tried to see it as another game but it was hard to do that.
"The lads have made it easy for me to settle in. This season has been something else but I'm grateful for the opportunity to play in these big games. I never thought I'd make my England debut this year but here we are."
Goals from Marcus Rashford and Danny Welbeck helped England overcome the Costa Ricans to conclude their World Cup preparations with a win.
