Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to impress England boss Roy Hodgson

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain says that he is looking forward to the prospect of playing for England in their friendly against Denmark.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has said that he is relishing the opportunity to play for England against Denmark when the sides meet on Wednesday evening.

The match at Wembley Stadium will be the final friendly before manager Roy Hodgson names his 30-man preliminary squad for the World Cup.

Oxlade-Chamberlain believes that the friendly will bring out the best in the players as they compete for places at this summer's finals in Brazil.

"Whether I'm playing in centre midfield or out wide, it doesn't really matter. If I get picked, I just need to make sure I put in a good performance (against Denmark)," he told Sky Sports News.

"I have been working for five months to get back on to the pitch so this is a nice reward to be in the team. You always have to be on your toes and take the opportunity when it comes."

The Arsenal winger has won 13 caps for England.
