Hodgson: 'Wilshere needs to curb enthusiasm'

England boss Roy Hodgson has called for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere to curb his enthusiasm after being given a misconduct charge by the Football Association.

Wilshere was handed the charge after leading fans in an expletive chant aimed at Tottenham Hotspur during Arsenal's FA Cup victory parade.

"It was important Arsenal took that matter in hand and it was dealt with as far as Arsenal and the FA was concerned. He must accept that," said Hodgson, according to The Express.

"It's not the type of behaviour we encourage or want to see but unfortunately young men do things they regret. We need to make sure he curbs his enthusiasm."

Wilshere has so far made 26 caps for his country, but is yet to score a goal.
