Hodgson hails "tremendous" recovery

England boss Roy Hodgson has revealed his delight after his team came from two goals behind against Germany to record a 3-2 win over the world champions in Berlin.

Efforts from Toni Kroos and Mario Gomez saw Germany lead by two goals just before the hour in the international friendly, but Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy levelled, before Eric Dier struck the winner for the Three Lions in stoppage time.

"It must be close (to England's best performance under Hodgson). You don't beat Germany every day. I think we carried on from where we left off against France," Hodgson told ITV Sport. "To come back and score three goals was tremendous. The players must take incredible heart from the performance."

England have still only lost just once - a friendly to European champions Spain - since the 2014 World Cup.
