Stephen Harper says that he is "proud" of Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster being given an England start in tonight's friendly against Chile.

Former Newcastle United goalkeeper Stephen Harper has expressed his pride at Celtic's Fraser Forster being given his England chance.

The 25-year-old is said to have been picked by manager Roy Hodgson to start in tonight's friendly against Chile at Wembley.

Harper wrote on Twitter: "Very proud of Fraser Forster who makes his England debut tonight. A great lad with a fantastic attitude who really deserves it!! #Hightower"

Forster will have been picked ahead of Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart and Norwich City's John Ruddy.
