England name their squad for their friendlies with Republic of Ireland and Brazil.

England have named their squad for their upcoming friendly matches with Republic of Ireland and Brazil.

Manager Roy Hodgson has selected a 22-man squad for the two games, handing recalls to goalkeeper Ben Foster and striker Andy Carroll.

The former Fulham boss has also handed a first international call-up to Reading stopper Alex McCarthy.

England face Republic of Ireland on May 29, before they travel to Rio de Janeiro to face Brazil on June 2.

England squad:

Defenders: L.Baines, G.Cahill, A.Cole, P.Jagielka, G.Johnson, P.Jones, J.Lescott, K.Walker
