Michael Carrick withdraws from England squad

Michael Carrick has pulled out of the England squad for Wednesday's friendly against Brazil through injury.

It is not yet clear what problem the Manchester United midfielder is suffering with.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has also withdrawn due to an ankle injury.

England welcome five-time World Cup winners Brazil to the Wembley Stadium on Wednesday to celebrate the Football Association's 150th anniversary.
