UEFA begin proceedings against Denmark's Nicklas Bendtner

Bendtner faces improper conduct charge

UEFA have confirmed that they have begun disciplinary proceedings against Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner.

The 24-year-old has been targeted by the European governing body for revealing the logo of a betting company on the waistband of his underpants while celebrating his goal during the Danes' 3-2 defeat to Portugal at Euro 2012.

UEFA said in a statement: "Proceedings have been opened by Uefa against Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner for improper conduct."

Meanwhile, Bendtner's club future remains up in the air following a season-long loan stint at Sunderland from Arsenal.
