FC Dallas brush aside Chivas USA

FC Dallas have registered a 3-1 victory over Chivas USA at home in the MLS.

The visitors were the better side in the opening minutes at the Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, as Luke Moore and Leandro Barrera both went close.

Dallas stepped up their game thereafter, with Blas Perez having two chances in quick succession before Je-Vaughn Watson headed wide.

The second half was relatively quiet with the two teams cancelling out each other, until the 71st minute when Fabian Castillo fired home after latching onto a headed pass from Hendry Thomas.

Seven minutes later it became 2-0 to Dallas, as Watson found the target from a difficult angle on the right side of the Chivas penalty box.

The visitors threatened a comeback when Erick Torres halved the deficit soon after, but Michel secured the points for Oscar Pareja's side with a free kick on 86 minutes.

Thomas was sent off in the fourth minute of injury time for Dallas, but that did not have any effect on the final result.
