Palace 'step up efforts for Castagne'

Crystal Palace have reportedly turned their attention to Atalanta BC right-back Timothy Castagne as a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Eagles accepted a £50m bid from United for Wan-Bissaka last month, leaving a void to be filled in their backline.

Having already been linked with Paulo Diaz and Max Aarons, of Al-Ahli and Norwich City respectively, the Daily Mail claims that Castagne is now in their sights.

The 23-year-old, used 28 times in Serie A last season, is rumoured to have rejected the offer of a new contract with Atalanta.

Liverpool's Nathaniel Clyne was another option for Palace, but the Englishman is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a cruciate ligament injury.
