Crystal Palace 'return with improved bid for Neil Taylor'

Crystal Palace chase Neil Taylor as manager Alan Pardew offers Swansea City an improved £4.5m.

Crystal Palace have made an improved £4.5m bid for Swansea City left-back Neil Taylor, according to reports.

New manager Alan Pardew is keen to strengthen his squad this month and he has been given funds by the board as they hope to stave off the threat of relegation.

The Mirror says that Pardew has already failed with a £3m bid for Taylor, but is keen to land the Welsh international and has now gone back to Swansea with a larger offer.

The report claims that Pardew is keen to have a natural left-footed player at left-back as opposed to Joel Ward and Martin Kelly, who have both featured there this season.

Taylor has made 23 appearances for Swansea in this campaign.
