Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew: 'American investment will help club massively'

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew says that the club will benefit "massively" if the deal to bring in two American investors goes through.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has given his backing to the proposed investment from American businessmen David Blitzer and Josh Harris.

Co-chairman Steve Parish confirmed last week that the Premier League club are in advanced talks with the duo, who co-own NBA team Philadelphia 76ers and NHL club New Jersey Devils.

Reports have claimed that each of the businessmen will take 18% of Palace, which equals Parish's share, but the co-chairman will continue to take charge of the football aspects of the club.

"We have a great opportunity to build and this investment is going to help massively," Pardew said in today's press conference. "I've been involved in the process almost since the day I joined and it's something that would be great for Crystal Palace.

"Steve Parish's record here, even before I came, has been phenomenal. He has got the calls right and he's making this call. The most important relationship is me and him and that's not going to be broken.

"I think its good for the American investors that they have got Steve. He's going to guide them through those tiny moments that perhaps a foreign investor can't get his head around and Steve can put some clarity on that for them."

The new investors are expected to have a major say in budget issues.
