Crystal Palace defender Danny Gabbidon hopes to contribute to the club in the remaining weeks of the season.

Danny Gabbidon has targeted a run in the Crystal Palace first team after a disappointing debut season with the club.

The Welshman joined the London outfit last summer, but fitness and injury problems have limited him to just six league appearances for the club.

"As a footballer you always want to play. It's been a stop-start kind of season for me," he told reporters at a press conference.

"I joined late and the team was doing really well and I couldn't really get in the team which was understandable, and when I did play a few games I ended up getting injured which was disappointing.

"It's been a bit of an up and down season but the lads have been fantastic. I'd like to stay in the team if I can."

Palace currently sit fifth in the Championship table.
