Crewe Alexandra defender Jon Guthrie has insisted that his teammates are "feeling quite positive", despite hovering just two points above the League One relegation zone.
The Railwaymen beat Port Vale 3-1 last weekend, but could not build on the victory and lost 1-0 against Stevenage in midweek.
"We obviously had a great win last weekend at Port Vale and all knew how important it was to follow that result up at Stevenage," Guthrie told the club's official website. "Unfortunately we couldn't quite do that but we are still feeling quite positive.
"We played well and didn't get what we deserved. It was just one of those nights when things didn't go for us but the performance was good. We dominated the possession but on this occasion the chances didn't go in.
"The Port Vale win was a massive one for us and did bring confidence for the boys. We obviously want to win every game but that one was extra special for the fans so it was really pleasing to get the result. Like I said it was disappointing that we couldn't quite follow it up at Stevenage, but now we have another game coming up very quickly."
Guthrie is out of contract at the end of the season.
