Juventus held in Copenhagen

Fabio Quagliarella scores in the second half to cancel out Nicolai Jorgensen's first-half strike and earn a point for Juventus in Copenhagen.

Juventus have been held to a 1-1 draw by Copenhagen at the Parken Stadium in their opening Champions League Group B game.

The Italian champions created the first chance of the contest and it came in the sixth minute when Andrea Pirlo's cleverly taken corner kick was picked up by Carlos Tevez, but the Argentine striker's shot went just wide of the near post.

However, it was Copenhagen who broke the deadlock on 16 minutes when Nicolai Jorgensen, who reacted quickest after Juventus failed to clear a free kick and found the target from close range.

Antonio Conte's side replied almost immediately with Tevez trying his luck from distance, before Giorgio Chiellini and Paul Pogba tested the hosts' goalkeeper Johan Wiland.

Pogba and Tevez combined on 38 minutes but the former's header from the latter's cross narrowly failed to find the target.

Juventus started the second half with a bang and restored parity 10 minutes after the restart. Tevez stepped over Federico Peluso's low cross to create space for Fabio Quagliarella, who then fired home with ease.

Quagliarella almost put the Bianconeri into the lead in the 65th minute when he connected with Stephan Lichtsteiner's curling cross, but saw his header come back off the bar.

Arturo Vidal tested Wiland in the 78th minute and came close again in the final minutes, but failed to earn all three points for his side.
