Joe Edwards joins Colchester United

Colchester United have completed the signing of free agent Joe Edwards.

The 24-year-old had been available following his release at the end of last season by Yeovil Town, whom he captained last term.

In total, the midfielder made 119 appearances for the West Country outfit.

Subject to the necessary paperwork being finalised, Edwards will be the fourth player to have joined the U's this summer following the arrivals of Richard Brindley, Matthew Briggs and George Elokobi.
