Richard Brindley completes Colchester United move

Colchester United have completed their first signing of the summer in the shape of Richard Brindley.

The 22-year-old, who spent the latter stages of last season on loan with the U's, was recently released by Rotherham United.

"I'm looking forward to next season and being a part of this club. I enjoyed my loan spell and hope to have the same sorts of results over the next couple of years," the right-back told the club's official website.

Brindley has agreed a two-year contract at the League One side.
