Mark Yates: 'Cheltenham Town will improve'

Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates believes that the club will move away from the bottom of League Two.

Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates has said that the club will pull away from the bottom half of League Two.

The Robins currently sit 17th in the table ahead of Saturday's match against Northampton Town.

The club lost to Aidy Boothroyd's side in last season's playoff semi-finals, but Yates believes that is not a factor in their slow start this term.

"We haven't started well, I don't think it is anything to do with a hangover," Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"I think both teams will be nowhere near where they are now. We've both got to earn the right to start moving up that table. We've done that over the last month, we've won three games out of the last five."

Cheltenham beat Morecambe 3-0 on Tuesday evening.
