Tottenham 'falling short of David Raya asking price'

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly valued transfer target David Raya at £20m, however Brentford are hoping to get £40m from the sale of their first-choice goalkeeper.

The 27-year-old joined the Bees in the summer of 2019 from Blackburn Rovers and has since been a key part of the club's rise into the Premier League, featuring 160 times in all competitions over four seasons.

Despite being unable to stop Harry Kane's long-range strike on Saturday, the Spaniard made six saves in North London as Thomas Frank's side beat Spurs 3-1 to keep their bid for European football alive heading into the final weekend of fixtures.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham want to sign Raya for £20m as a replacement for Hugo Lloris this summer, however the Bees value their keeper at £40m.

The report adds that Brentford have lined up a move for Freiburg's Mark Flekken if Raya was to depart the club - the 29-year-old Dutchman has kept 13 clean sheets in the Bundesliga this season.

It is also believed that Raya is admired by West London rivals Chelsea - albeit it is said that the player himself favours a move to North London rather than a switch to Stamford Bridge.
