Chelsea transfer news: Blues defender 'eyed up' by West Ham with 'time running out' to agree deal

'Time running out' for West Ham to sign wantaway Chelsea defender

Chelsea defender Axel Disasi is reportedly wanted by West Ham United before the end of the summer transfer window.

The 27-year-old has not featured in any matchday squads for the West London Blues in the Premier League so far this season.

Earlier this month, Disasi was supposedly closing in on a move to Bournemouth, who are searching for reinforcements following a number of high-profile departures.

However, as deadline day reaches its conclusion, the Frenchman is yet to sign for the Cherries, despite recent advanced talks.

Since making the move from Monaco during the summer of 2023, Disasi has featured on 61 occasions for Chelsea, scoring five goals.

Chelsea outcast Disasi wanted by West Ham?

According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Chelsea man Disasi could be dragged out of the Stamford Bridge bomb squad before the end of the day.

The report claims that fellow Premier League outfit West Ham are interested in securing the services of the out-of-favour Frenchman.

However, it is said that time is running out for the Blues and the Hammers to agree a suitable deal for the transfer of the player.

It is believed that there is no agreement between the two parties at this stage, adding to the complexity of a possible switch on deadline day.

Disasi spent the second half of last season at Aston Villa, where he played 10 matches, including three times in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

West Ham's transfer window

The pressure on West Ham head coach Graham Potter has eased slightly following an impressive success at Nottingham Forest on the weekend.

Goals from Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and summer recruit Callum Wilson sealed an eye-catching 3-0 victory for the Hammers.

The East Londoners have dipped into the midfield market for reinforcements recently, signing Soungoutou Magassa and Southampton's Matheus Fernandes.
