Antonio Rudiger says that he remains happy at Chelsea, suggesting that "other people" have decisions to make regarding his contract situation.

Antonio Rudiger has claimed that "other people" at Chelsea have decisions to make regarding his ongoing contract situation.

The defender now has just four-and-a-half months remaining on his existing terms, increasing the chances of an exit on a free transfer in the summer.

However, when quizzed on his future, the Germany international has said that he remains happy at Stamford Bridge, insisting that club officials and his representatives are responsible for meeting his contractual demands.

Speaking to The Athletic, the 28-year-old said: "I feel great here, I have always said it. I think the way I play you can see that I'm happy here. But there are also other people who have to make decisions."

Rudiger is allegedly one of the lowest earners in Thomas Tuchel's first-team squad, something that he is said to want rectified if he is to stay at the newly-crowned world champions.

Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are reportedly among the clubs monitoring the situation.
