Report: Gary Cahill wants to leave Chelsea over Euro 2016 fears

Gary Cahill is reportedly considering leaving Chelsea due to fears over his place in England's squad for this summer's European Championships.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is reportedly considering leaving the Premier League club just one month after signing a new four-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

The 30-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular first-team spot this season as captain John Terry and Kurt Zouma are preferred as the first choice centre-back pairing.

According to Reuters, Cahill has found himself at a "crossroads of his career" and is concerned that his lack of first-team action will impact his chances of earning a spot in the England team for this summer's European Championships.

The defender is likely to be challenging Everton star John Stones for a spot in Roy Hodgson's England lineup, and he is reportedly considering his future with Euro 2016 in mind.

Cahill has featured just 12 times for Chelsea so far this season.
